The Topsfield Athletic Association is a nonprofit organization established by community volunteers to provide organized sports activities for the youth and adults of the town. The emphasis is on developing sportsmanship, individual skills, teamwork and a positive self image. Every effort is made to see that every individual who registers is given a place to play on an appropriate team.
At lower levels of competition, participation is broad and instruction is emphasized. At higher levels of competition, participation may be more selective. Adult programs are also available depending on interest and demand.
The TAA was formed in 1950, and since 1991 there has been a "per sport" charge to cover expenses. Fees vary according to the cost of running the program. Funds are also used to make capital improvements to the playing facilities utilized by the TAA teams and other residents from the community.
A former Topsfield resident, Philip Rockwell shared a brief history of the Topsfield Athletic Association. Click here to learn more about the organizations history.
